Rewarding Work is a Web-based service at www.RewardingWork.org designed to assist Vermont elders, residents with disabilities of all ages, their families, and parents of children with disabilities to hire their own staff. Through the combination of the Internet and a toll-free telephone number, Rewarding Work allows consumers to access a comprehensive database of qualified care providers.
All Vermont residents are eligible for free subscriptions to Rewarding Work. There is no charge for them to access the list of qualified direct care workers.
In order to receive your free subscription, you must first get an access code from a Vermont provider agency. Each agency has a unique code. By using the access code, you help us to track the effectiveness of the Rewarding Work program in Vermont. Click here for an agency in your region.
You use the access code only one time when you register.
It allows you, the consumer, to hire the support you need. There will soon be hundreds of people registered with Rewarding Work in Vermont who are looking for work. They have the skills to assist you in living independently. Rewarding Work gives you choice and control.
Rewarding Work lets you choose from a wide group of potential employees. It assists you by making the search process for support staff much easier. With a simple click of a mouse, individuals can find the direct care worker or personal care assistant (PCA) who best meets their needs. You can find direct care workers who live close by and can work when you need them.
After you register, you will receive a password by email. The first time you use the password you will be asked to change it. You will need to use your username (email address) and password each time you login. There is a login box on every page of RewardingWork.org. You may login from any page.
