Rhode Island PASS

PASS—which stands for Personal Assistance Services and Supports—is a service that can help Rhode Island families of children with special health care needs.

PASS is provided in the home or community setting to help improve the following:

  • A child’s ability to make self-preserving decisions;
  • A child’s ability to participate in social situations.

PASS workers, while following a PASS Care Plan, provide assistance by guiding and redirecting the child, providing opportunities for the child to interact with others in home and community settings, and hands on assistance if needed.
